Sony Pictures Ghostbusters debuts July 15th. The cast is played by an all-female cast. Mellissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are the new stars set to grace the screens. The movie is set to make close to $ 50 million in its first week.

The director of the film sparked an outcry in Hollywood when he announced the cast would be all female. The film is a reboot of the 1984 version that became iconic. Back then Ivan Reitman was the director. The original cast was quite diverse as opposed to today's version.

"The movie cost $ 144 million to produce," said Sony," with good marketing and reviews we are very optimistic sales could hit $50 million" The directors were careful to make it a reboot as opposed to a sequel. This could be pointing to a franchise in the future.

The movie premiered in Los Angeles on July 9th, 2016. Leslie Jones wore a red Christian Siriano dress to the show. The star was having difficulty finding a designer. She had been on the search for a dress for quite some time. Her disappointment was expressed on Twitter back in June.

Christian Siriano was the designer who was able to work with her six-foot tall, athletic build. The fact that she is also black could also have weighed in on her problems. Ghostbuster will debut alongside other favorites such as the Infiltrator and Caf Society.

The Infiltrator is a movie about a federal agent and the famous drug lord Pablo Escobar. The agent played by Bryan Cranston can bring down the Medien cartel.
