One of his primary campaign pillars was insinuating that global warming does not exist. He said that it was just a way for the Chinese to make the US manufacturing non-competitive.
However, soon after stepping in as president, it seems that after speaking to several scientific organizations that he is starting to see a "slight connection between the two."
Trump has threatened to pull out of the Paris Agreement that entailed to all nations committing to reduce global warming. He had also threatened to withdraw all US organizations and their funding set around the world to research on Global warming.
"I think there is some connectivity. Some, something. It depends on how much," Trump said. "I will look at it very carefully, and I am leaving an open mind about it."
Global warming is fast emerging as one of the biggest global concerns in the past year. Temperatures have hit record highs in all the months leading to the shrieking of the arctic and antarctic ice caps.
The heat has been so extreme that perennial ice sheets at the caps have completely melted. The poles are now relying on winter ice to maintain the frost, making the polar ice continents shrink to a record size.
The foremost problem this presents is flooding of coastal areas. Scientists have agreed that if nothing is changed that this would lead calamity in the next few years.
