Jamie Gilt, a 31-year-old resident of Jacksonville and the owner of a Facebook page titled "Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense" depicting her holding a rifle, was in stable condition after being taken to a local hospital, according to a CBS report.
The child was unharmed and was handed over to family members.
Police found a .45-caliber handgun on the floor of the truck.
Gilt's Facebook page says that the purpose of the page is "to connect people that share a common goal. That goal is to protect and expand our 2nd Ammendment [sic] rights."
Police are investigating the incident. It is a crime in Florida to store or leave a loaded gun where a child can access it.
A deputy found the truck with a horse trailer attached partially parked in the road.

It is unclear whether her page has always been private or was made private after the incident.
Studies have shown that owning a gun results in a higher rate of accidental death by gun, and for every time a gun is used for self-defense in the home, there are four accidents involving guns in or around the home.
