Law enforcement officials have been investigating Enrique Marquez, a friend and former neighbor of San Bernardino attack terrorist Syed Rizwan Farook, and are expected to file charges against him. According to CNN.com, the charges are partly based on allegations that the two assault rifles used by Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik during their December 2nd attack were purchased by Marquez.

Marquez has already confessed to purchasing the automatic weapons, two AR-15s, for Farook several years ago. He also confessed to being involved with Farook in a 2012 attack plot that they then decided to not carry out. Marquez's confessions were voluntary, and he has been cooperating with investigators. He claims to have no prior knowledge of the San Bernardino attacks, and has checked himself into a mental health facility.

Farook and Malik opened fire during Farook's company holiday party, killing 14 people in a mass shooting terror attack. Authorities are still putting together the pieces of who they interacted with, and if they had any additional support. Investigators discovered that Farook and Malik had exchanged messages about jihad and martyrdom back in 2013, before they were married. Around the time of the attack, Malik posted a Facebook message pledging allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Badghadi, the leader of terrorist group ISIS. Both attackers where killed by police in a stand-off hours after the attack.

It is unclear when the charges against Marquez will be filed.
