Technology designed for reading ancient carbonating scrolls discovered

Ancient biblical manuscripts have been found and preserved, especially around the Dead Sea and Israel. Most of the artifacts are already carbonating, and it would be impossible to open them without crumbling them.

They have therefore been placed in Museums with no one knowing their content. However, Pnina Shor, a scientist from the University of Kentucky has been working on technology that would enable them to read the text without opening the scroll for the past 13 years.

He has finally uncovered, it by using a series of virtual triangles that convert the 3D scroll into a virtual 2D scroll. The inking is then contrasted until it is legible. The first scripture used by this technology has been identified to have come from the book of Leviticus. The scientist and his team, through their new technology, believe that the scroll was made between AD50 and AD100.

This contrast from the prior believes that the scroll was written in AD300. "We have never found anything as striking as this. This is the earliest evidence of the exact form of the medieval text," said Dr. Pnina Shor. "The En-Gedi manuscript represents the first severely damaged, ink-based scroll to be unrolled and identified noninvasively."

The scientist believes that his discovery can be used to understand other ancient text. There is still a lot researcher, and believers alike do not understand about Christianity. The Scientist hopes that the new technique will bring them closer to understanding religion as a whole. The text is still being deciphered as it originates from the Masoretic text which did not have any vowels. Each Hebrew region also had their kind of Masoretic text, making interpreting the text even harder.
