One of the world’s largest tech companies by volume revealed that its next Surface event will take place on October 2, 2019. Invitations were sent out to members of the press, featuring a Surface logo against a dark background.

The event could put Microsoft back in the tablet spotlight, with updates to the Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2, and possibly the Surface Book 2. A new Surface Studio was launched last year and Microsoft’s development cycle, leading experts to conclude an updated version remains a way off.

The software maker has started sending invites to the media today, asking for a “moment of your time.” The event will start at 4PM ET / 1PM PT on October 2nd, and focus on Microsoft’s latest hardware, software, and services. While there have been rumors of an “Andromeda” dual-screen device, though it remains unclear whether the event will include more information on product development, or whether developers will reveal a working example.

The fall event will also likely include a focus on Microsoft’s services and hardware across both home and work, and how apps like Your Phone play into that.
