DETROIT, MI. A Detroit woman says her Samsung phone caught fire and destroyed her car while driving.  Per local ABC news, she had two phones in the car at the time of the incident, both a Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S8.

It is unclear as to which phone is suspected of catching fire. The fire was bad enough that the woman, who has asked to keep her identity a secret, thought she was “going to die” when she saw the “sparks and the fire”.

She rapidly pulled over her car and got out just as the flames engulfed her Nissan Maxima. The claims have been verified by the Detroit Fire Department, according to ABC news.  The woman’s attorney says she still suffers emotional scars, and is having trouble sleeping after the incident.

Although similar complaints have been filed against Samsung phones, neither of the phones were on a recall list, according to her attorney. Samsung has thus far stood by the quality of it’s phones, and has not issued a recall, and no lawsuit has yet been filed.
